Jacaranda

This purple version of Victoria's cherry trees has been throwing its petals to the wind for the past month and a half or so, and I'm going to miss the Jacaranda when they're done (any time now). Often when I leave for work in the morning the sidewalk is sprinkled in purple, and the trees, which are much bigger than the cherries, spread wonderful canopies over the streets, such as this one in Melville (Johannesburg).

Beautiful! It is raining here, however all the local mountains are open and egg-nog is already on sale! Gotta love it.

Miss ya.

hello cousin,

wow, i am sitting in the rainy langley weather (visiting mum for the day) and feeling like you are at the nicer end of the stick!

Your adventure sounds educational, challenging and exciting...as you know I like to keep my travels to the distance that the BC ferry runs and so I will see the world through you and your blogs. Be safe cousin.

Pip, that is one of the best pictures i have seen in a long time. The colour of the trees has been in my mind's eye for days now. I dream of waking in the morning and seeing such a view. It far exceeds the drearines of BC quasi-winter that greets me instead. Any chance you could bring one back for me? Just a little one?
