Road Rage

In a recent study of 12 road rage-prone countries, South Africa came out on top with 62% of respondents saying that they have behaved "aggressively" (anything from cursing at another driver to getting out of the car and physically abusing them) while driving.

My only road experience thus far was the drive to Swaziland. We managed to avoid the 62%, and took care not to stop in any of the "Highjacking Hotspots" that are helpfully marked by roadsign.

Pip, Looking at those wonderful photographs of Cathedral Peaks, I must mention that you were there before!! In January 1976, we were hiking in the Drakensberg when I became tired, so stopped to rest while Guy continued on up. I fell asleep and Guy's lovely old backpack, complete with dried prunes, socks and car keys, were stolen by a herdsman. We hiked down to the hotel, collecting our belongings from camp on the way and having to tie it around us as we were missing the pack. We were stranded there for several days while awaiting a new set of keys from Durban. A glorious spot to be stranded although slightly above our budget! "Why was I falling asleep in such a glorious area?", you might ask. You were born 7 months later!!

Hey your site is a wonderful visit with you and I imagined it to be very different than the pictures. I also like the story... :) from Anonymous. I've forgotten when your birthdate actually is. I thought August 6 1976. Wonderful to see how you are doing and look forward to seeing you when you return. I've asked lovely lisa if she read the book:) take care,
